New rules and employment rights are in effect from April. This includes changes to statutory rates, flexible working, redundancy rights, holidays, and more…
Over the past few months, our experts have been preparing for a swarm of HR changes. And now we’re into April, it’s now more important than ever to make sure you’re legally up to date.
With all this change, keeping track might be a challenge.
But to give you a recap of all the changes in April 2024…
Businesses had to get to grips with new rules around holiday entitlement and pay for their part-year and irregular hour staff.
Statutory payments also increased and minimum wage bandings changed. Meaning, for businesses who pay their staff on or around the national minimum wage, they should already be taking steps to prevent these workers from falling below the new legal thresholds.
We also saw new redundancy rights come in, as well as new paternity leave rules and rising compensatory rates at tribunal.
